My day is planned, each moment full, a schedule I must keep
But pausing in my spirit, as if waking from my sleep
I realize that my plans may not be Your plans at all
So I whisper, “Interrupt me Lord, don’t let me miss Your call.”
Before me always seems to be a deadline I must meet
Calls to make, appointments, a ticking clock to beat
But in the midst of all the noise I make a simple choice
And say, “Please interrupt me Lord, I want to hear Your voice.”
Hours become days, spinning quickly by
And someday becomes yesterday in the blinking of an eye
So when I feel your nudging in the middle of the fray
May I answer, “Yes Lord.” “Not my will, but yours today.”

Interrupt me, Lord
